The Board Members of the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption are elected by the African Union Executive Council ministerial meeting during AU Summit in either January or July. The Council, by delegated authority, automatically and simultaneously appoints the members after election.
The Advisory Board on Corruption is composed of eleven (11) members elected by the Executive Council from among a list of experts of the highest integrity, impartiality, and recognized competence in matters relating to preventing and combating corruption and related offenses, proposed by the State Parties. Board Members serve for a term of six (6) years renewable only once.
